Terms of Use & Refund Policy
These terms govern your use of Motion Monster software published by Motion Monster LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, installing, or using Motion Monster, you agree to these terms.
1. The software
Motion Monster is animation software for macOS and Windows. We offer a free edition and a paid Motion Monster Pro edition that unlocks additional features. Feature differences are described on our website and in the application.
2. License grant
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Motion Monster for personal, educational, or commercial creative work.
- Free edition: You may use the free edition without purchase, subject to the limitations of that edition.
- Pro edition: A valid Pro license key entitles the purchaser to use Pro features on their own devices in accordance with the license issued at purchase. Pro licenses are tied to the purchaser and may not be shared, resold, or published.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, distribute, or sublicense Motion Monster except as expressly allowed by these terms
- Share, sell, or publicly disclose Pro license keys
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Use Motion Monster in a way that violates applicable law
- Attempt to circumvent licensing, activation, or feature restrictions
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under applicable law, including rights that cannot be waived by contract.
4. Purchases
Motion Monster Pro is sold through our payment partner, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. Payment processing, receipts, and tax collection are handled according to Lemon Squeezy’s terms and policies. Your purchase may also be subject to Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms. All Pro sales are final — see our refund policy below.
5. Updates
We may provide updates, bug fixes, or new versions at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide updates or to maintain compatibility with every operating system release, though we aim to keep Motion Monster current.
6. Ownership
Motion Monster, including its code, artwork, branding, and documentation, is owned by Motion Monster LLC and its licensors. These terms do not sell the software to you — they license it. You retain ownership of the animation projects and original content you create with Motion Monster.
7. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Motion Monster is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Motion Monster will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet every use case.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Motion Monster LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Motion Monster. Our total liability for any claim relating to Motion Monster or these terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for Motion Monster Pro in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or fifty US dollars (USD $50) if you use the free edition.
10. Termination
These terms remain in effect while you use Motion Monster. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using Motion Monster and delete copies in your possession. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Motion Monster after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Motion Monster LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Refund policy
All Motion Monster Pro sales are final. Because Motion Monster includes a full free edition, we encourage you to download and try the free version before purchasing Pro. Use it to confirm that Motion Monster works on your system and meets your needs.
Motion Monster Pro uses offline activation. Once a license key is issued, we cannot reliably revoke Pro access on your devices after a refund. For that reason, we do not offer refunds on Pro purchases except where required by applicable law.
If you have trouble with Motion Monster Pro after purchase, contact [email protected] — we will do our best to help you resolve technical or licensing issues.
